The Leon Guerrero-Tenorio administration has appointed its Chief of Staff, Jon Junior Calvo, as the executive transition director to help coordinate an “orderly transfer of executive branch responsibilities” to the incoming administration.

In a release Friday, Adelup said Calvo is the primary liaison for the outgoing administration, tasked with working with government agencies, departments and Executive Office staff to facilitate briefings, respond to information requests and provide essential records and resources to the Ada-Calvo team.

“He will work directly with the incoming leadership to establish a transition process that reflects its priorities, preferences and objectives while ensuring continuity of government operations and public services,” Adelup said.

Gov. Lou Leon Guerrero said it is the responsibility of public service to ensure the transfer of government is “peaceful and orderly.”

“We are committed to providing the incoming administration with the information, resources and support it needs to prepare for the responsibilities ahead and serve the people of Guam,” Leon Guerrero said.

Lt. Gov. Josh Tenorio echoed the governor's sentiments, adding that cooperation and continuity are important throughout the transition of leadership.

“Good government requires us to put the people we serve above politics,” Tenorio said. “We have a responsibility to share our experience, preserve institutional knowledge and help position the next administration for success. The people of Guam deserve nothing less than our full cooperation and support.”

The statement from Adelup follows Thursday's announcement by the Ada-Calvo administration of its transition leadership, which named Jerry Crisostomo as chair of the transition team. Crisostomo is tasked with overall coordination of the transition effort.

Adelup said the "Leon Guerrero-Tenorio administration remains committed to a professional and cooperative transfer of leadership that puts the interests of the people of Guam first."
