Guam’s young performers lit up the stage Saturday at the Micronesia Mall Center Court, where the Korean Association of Guam hosted a K-Pop Dance contest as part of its annual “Chuseok” celebration.
The energetic showcase drew a lively crowd, with fans clapping, cheering, and dancing along to the beat of popular K-Pop tracks, with special performances by popular K-Pop dance groups One Take Ent. and Groo-Vibe. The festival highlighted the growing influence of Korean culture on island youth and celebrated the holiday’s spirit of community and cultural exchange.
Taking home the top prize were students from the Guam Department of Education’s Tiyan High School, who impressed both the judges and the audience with their sharp choreography and stage presence. The team earned first place and a $1,500 award.
The contest was among the highlights of the Chu Seok festivities, offering families and community members a chance to gather, enjoy performances, and share in the celebration of Korean heritage in Guam.
