The University of Guam Land Grant program invites adults in the community to take part in Holiday Wellness Week: Keys to Embracing Aging with Joy and Holiday Cheer, a five-session workshop series focused on wellness, connection, and healthy aging during the holiday season. The classes will be held from 3 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Nov. 17–20 and Nov. 24 at the UOG campus for a single $25 registration fee.
Led by human services specialist Dr. Tim de La Cruz and family and consumer science extension associate Clarissa Barcinas, the sessions will combine education, hands-on activities, and group discussions that promote physical, mental, and emotional well-being. Participants will explore research-based practices from the “Keys to Embracing Aging” curriculum, reimagined with a festive twist to help individuals stay grounded, healthy, and joyful through the holidays.
Each session will cover a different theme, from cultivating gratitude and stress relief through art to healthy eating, staying active, nurturing relationships, and maintaining brain health. Activities include painting, chair yoga, recipe makeovers, holiday card crafting, and memory-building exercises such as creating a Holiday Memory Jar and playing themed trivia.
Registration is available online at https://url.uog.edu/holiday-wellness. Participants can pay the $25 fee online or upon arrival at the first class. For more information, contact Clarissa Barcinas at (671) 735-2041 or email csnbarcinas@triton.uog.edu.
