The University of Guam will launch two new degree pathways in Education which will begin in the upcoming Fanuchånan (Fall) 2026 semester this August.
A release from the university on Wednesday said the new pathways will expand opportunities for its students to pursue careers in education, while addressing the workforce needs of Guam, Micronesia and the Pacific.
The new pathways are the Bachelor of Arts in Education: Educational Studies, which prepares graduates for a broad range of education-focused careers, and the Bachelor of Arts in Education: Elementary Education – Early Childhood Intervention Track, which leads to teacher licensure in early childhood intervention," the release said.
UOG said students can pursue professions to include becoming a licensed classroom teacher, community-based learning, youth development, and educational support.
UOG described the Bachelor of Arts in Education: Educational Studies as a "flexible pathway" for careers in youth development, community organizations charter and private schools, educational support services, nonprofit organizations, workforce training, among other learning-centered fields.
Meanwhile the Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education: Early Childhood Intervention Track prepares future elementary educators with specialized knowledge and skills to support you children, their families and diverse learners.
" The program emphasizes inclusive, culturally responsive, and evidence-based practices in child development, assessment, family partnerships, social-emotional learning, and individualized intervention. It is designed to prepare graduates to meet the needs of children during their most critical years of development," UOG said.
The expanded pathway opportunities reflects the university's commitment to innovation and building Guam's educator workforce.
