The University of Guam has named Pamela A. Peralta as its Vice Provost of Research and Sponsored Programs, where she will lead the university’s research enterprise, grant activities and sponsored projects.
Peralta has served in the role on an interim basis since November 2023 and as UOG’s Director of Grants and Contracts since 2020. With more than 13 years of federal grant experience in Micronesia, she has overseen over $60 million annually in research proposals and awards, while advancing compliance, interdisciplinary collaboration and opportunities for faculty and student research.
“Research at UOG is vital to the prosperity and resilience of our island and region,” said UOG President Anita Borja Enriquez. “Dr. Peralta’s leadership and proven record in securing and supporting competitive grants and contracts will advance UOG’s role as a trusted source of knowledge and innovation.”
In her new role, Peralta will provide strategic direction for securing competitive funding, fostering partnerships and guiding UOG’s nine research centers, which focus on areas from climate resilience to cultural preservation and public health. “Our research reflects the unique strengths of our region, and I look forward to expanding opportunities that benefit our island, our students, and our partners across Micronesia,” Peralta said.
