The University of Guam's Presidential Evaluation Committee has completed its performance review of President Anita Borja Enriquez, rating her performance as "better than satisfactory," the highest designation under the university's evaluation framework.
The committee's review was based on Enriquez's goals, duties and accomplishments during the evaluation period and measured them against expectations outlined in her employment agreement.
Enriquez became president of the university in 2023 under a five-year contract. This year marks her third year in the position.
"Under Enriquez’s leadership, the University has expanded career-connected learning to better prepare students for meaningful careers through internships, experiential learning opportunities, and academic programs aligned with Guam’s workforce needs. UOG also expanded degree opportunities through innovative academic programs, collaborative offerings with regional partners, and a growing network of international university partnerships," UOG said in the release.
Other accomplishments cited during her tenure include the launch of UOG's first doctoral program in instruction and academic leadership and master's degree programs in data science and library and information science.
Enriquez said the achievements reflect the university's Tulos Mo'na Strategic Plan.
Enriquez said she was grateful for the support of the Board of Regents further stating, "Serving as President of the University of Guam is both an honor and a profound responsibility. Every day, I have the privilege of working alongside people who believe in the transformative power of higher education.”
