Tiyan High School and J.P. Torres Succession Academy have shown marked improvement in their public health inspections, with both schools recently passing with an 18/B rating, according to the Guam Department of Education. The schools previously received a 31/C.
Tiyan High School Principal Sophie Duenas credited the progress to support from GDOE’s Maintenance Division, which assisted with facility upkeep and repairs. She also acknowledged the efforts of school staff who worked consistently to address health and safety concerns.
The administrative team collaborated closely with CoreTech International, the lease owners of Tiyan High School, to ensure completion of outstanding work requests. Duenas said the collective effort reflects a strong commitment to improving the school environment for students.
