Three local workers have advanced their careers through the Guam Contractors Association Registered Apprenticeship Program, a partnership with the Guam Department of Labor. Their graduation was celebrated during a recent Contractors Association general membership luncheon.
Henry Abina and Rodel Snaer of BME & Sons completed the four-year electrical program, while Curtis Rosario of Pacific Rim finished the three-year heavy equipment operator program. Both companies have supported multiple apprentices, with BME & Sons graduating several workers over the past two years and Pacific Rim continuing to invest in training its workforce.
“These graduates represent the hard work and commitment it takes to complete a registered apprenticeship,” Acting Gov. Josh Tenorio said. “They now bring a higher level of expertise to their companies, strengthening Guam’s skilled workforce.” Tenorio added that investing in apprenticeships gives residents opportunities for meaningful careers while ensuring the island has the labor force needed for growth.
GDOL Director David Dell’Isola credited the GCA Trades Academy for providing training and emphasized the importance of apprenticeships in building technical expertise and hands-on experience. “This is a proven model for success, and we will continue to use this formula to strengthen Guam’s workforce,” Dell’Isola said.
