Democratic Senators Therese Terlaje and Sabina Flores Perez have picked up candidacy packets from the Guam Election Commission for Governor and Lieutenant Governor. This marks the sixth gubernatorial team to enter the 2026 Guam election.
In the August 1 primary, they will face fellow Democrats Senator Joe S. San Agustin and former Senator Dwayne T.D. San Nicolas, as well as Lt. Governor Joshua Tenorio and Senator Tina Rose Muna-Barnes. On the Republican side, Vice Speaker Tony Ada and businessman EJ Calvo will face Speaker Frank Blas, Jr. and former Guam Community College president Mary Okada. Independent candidates and businessmen Jeffery Pleadwell and Charlie Hermosa have also picked up packets from GEC.
As of April 10, the teams of San Agustin San Nicolas, Ada Calvo, and Blas Okada have officially filed their packets.
Senator Terlaje is currently serving her fifth term, having first entered the 34th Guam Legislature in 2017. Senator Perez is serving her fourth term, beginning with the 35th Guam Legislature in 2019.
