Lt. Governor Joshua Tenorio (D-Guam) and Senator Tina Muna-Barnes (D-Guam) officially announced their campaign for Governor and Lieutenant Governor of Guam in 2026. The announcement was made during a special event on December 19 at Fort Apugan in Agana Heights, surrounded by family, friends, and members of the Leon Guerrero-Tenorio administration.
This team will be contesting in the Democratic primary against Senator Joe S. San Agustin (D-Guam), who is running for Governor with former Senator and businessman Dwayne T.D. San Nicolas (D-Guam) as Lieutenant Governor.
This marks the second official Democratic gubernatorial team to be announced. Vice Speaker V. Anthony Ada and businessman EJ Calvo were the first to announce their bid on the Republican side.
Lt. Gov. Tenorio has served in his current role since 2019. He previously worked at the Judiciary of Guam from 2011 to 2017, concluding his tenure as the Administrator of the Courts. Sen. Muna-Barnes is currently serving her tenth term in the Guam Legislature.
