Summer Electronic Benefit Transfers (S-EBT) for eligible school-aged youth will be automatically uploaded Friday, July 17.
The S-EBT is a program under the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food and Nutrition Service, administered locally by the Department of Public Health and Social Services (DPHSS) in collaboration with the Guam Department of Education (GDOE) "to help purchase nutritious food during the summer months."
"Each eligible student will receive a one-time benefit amount of $180 per eligible child," DPHSS said in a release Friday.
Benefits will be automatically uploaded onto existing cards July 17 after 7 p.m. Those who do not have a card may obtain a new S-EBT or replacement card at the Micronesia Mall from July 13-20, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. on weekdays and 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on weekends.
To be eligible, a child must have been enrolled in and attended a school participating in the National School Lunch Program/School Breakfast Program (NSLP/SBP) during the period of July 1, 2025, to Aug. 6, 2026.
School-aged children between the ages of 5 and 18 who are not enrolled in an NSLP/SBP school but are enrolled in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) or Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) during the same period are also eligible, DPHSS officials said.
To obtain a new or replacement card, parents or legal guardians must present a valid ID upon pickup. Written authorizations are not accepted.
Those who receive duplicate benefits for the same child must report the error to DPHSS immediately for cancellation and, if instructed, "destroy the card."
