A student at M.U. Lujan Elementary School was found in possession of a BB gun and several blades on campus Wednesday morning, prompting an immediate response from school administrators, according to the Guam Department of Education.
The incident was first reported around 8:25 a.m., when two students alerted the main office that a classmate had contraband. Administrators quickly escorted the student to the office, where the child admitted to having an unloaded BB gun. A search conducted in the presence of staff and the student led to the confiscation of the BB gun and five blades.
School staff secured the items and suspended the search by 8:58 a.m. while awaiting police. Parents and guardians of the student were notified and arrived on campus before accompanying their child to the Central Precinct for further investigation.
GDOE officials emphasized that no students or staff were harmed during the incident and that the matter remains under police investigation.
