Sens. Joe S. San Agustin and Dwayne T.D. San Nicolas officially filed their candidacy Tuesday for governor and lieutenant governor at the Guam Election Commission, launching a campaign focused on accountability, integrity and government reform.
Surrounded by family, friends and supporters, the team said their bid responds to what they described as public demand for transparent leadership.
“Together, we enter this race not for personal ambition, but to answer the call for accountable, honest, and visionary leadership that our people deserve,” San Agustin said. “At the very heart of our campaign is the guiding principle of accountability. We pledge to earn your trust every day by being open, transparent, and responsible in every decision we make.”
San Agustin, now serving his fifth term in the Guam Legislature, said Guam needs leaders willing to confront difficult decisions “with honor and a clear sense of purpose.”
The San Agustin–San Nicolas platform outlines priorities including financial stability for families, public safety partnerships with island mayors, modernization of government services, investment in education and health care, and policies aimed at job growth and lowering the cost of living.
“Our vision for Guam is one where economic growth is a reality for every resident,” San Nicolas said. “We believe the people of Guam deserve a government that works as hard as they do. We will break down barriers, cut red tape, and ensure that every interaction with the government is fair, efficient, and helpful.”
The candidates thanked the island’s manåmko’ for their guidance and closed with a call for unity.
“In unity, there is strength,” the team said. “We humbly ask for your trust and vote. With your vote and support, together, we can lead Guam into a future defined by hope, integrity, and progress for all.”
