The American Red Cross is taking its Typhoon Bavi Resource Center outreach into the villages, meeting with residents whose homes sustained major damage or were destroyed to help them apply for financial assistance.
The Resource Center opened Wednesday, July 29, at the Micronesia Mall in Dededo — the second village outreach location following the conclusion of the Resource Center in Hagåtña on Tuesday, July 28.
"The American Red Cross is prioritizing residences that sustained major structural damage or were completely destroyed. Red Cross teams will speak with residents on a case-by-case basis," Joint Information Center Recovery Release No. 34 states.
Residents interested in applying must provide a valid form of identification and address verification. Accepted forms of address verification include a mayor's verification letter, a utility bill showing the applicant's home address or a bank statement showing the applicant's home address.
The Micronesia Mall Resource Center will operate Wednesday, July 29, and Thursday, July 30, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The third outreach will be held at the Jeromy Newby Community Youth Center in Talo'fo'fo' on Friday, July 31, and Saturday, Aug. 1, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
