The Department of Public Health and Social Services (DPHSS) announced a temporary delay in the distribution of SNAP and Cash Assistance benefits due to connectivity issues that affected the loading of funds onto client EBT cards on Tuesday, August 5. Officials say the Office of Technology is actively working to resolve the issue and apologized for the ongoing disruption to families who rely on these critical services.
In response to the delay, DPHSS will hold an emergency food distribution on Thursday, August 7, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Governor’s Complex Adelup Breezeway in Hagåtña. Organized by the Division of Homelessness Assistance and Poverty Prevention (DHAPP), the drive-through event aims to provide immediate food support to those affected. No pre-registration is required.
“We understand this issue has been ongoing,” DPHSS said in a statement, adding that the agency appreciates the public’s continued patience. Clients were encouraged to check their EBT card balance after 7:15 p.m. on August 6 by either calling the support number on their card or visiting www.ebtedge.com.
