The Department of Public Health and Social Services (DPHSS) will host a week-long celebration from August 4 to 9, 2025, in honor of National Community Health Center Week. The observance will spotlight the vital role Guam’s Community Health Centers play in delivering accessible and affordable healthcare to island residents, regardless of income or insurance status.
“Our health centers are here for every stage of life,” said DPHSS Director Theresa C. Arriola. “Whether it is a child’s first checkup, support for our manåmko, or chronic disease management, we are proud to be a place the community can rely on.” The week will feature free health services, public outreach, and events designed to strengthen the connection between the centers and the community.
Daily events include patient appreciation, blood pressure screenings, and a School Supply Donation Drive to benefit Head Start students. A proclamation ceremony is scheduled for Friday, August 8, with Governor Lou Leon Guerrero officially recognizing the week. On Saturday, the Southern Region Community Health Center will offer free child vaccinations and health screenings, along with educational resources on chronic illness and tobacco cessation.
