Facility upgrades at Ordot Chalan Pago Elementary School are nearing completion as part of the Guam Department of Education’s ongoing refurbishment initiative across the Kattan Region, officials announced Tuesday.
The project is approximately 88.10% complete, reflecting progress on a series of infrastructure improvements aimed at enhancing campus safety and functionality. Completed work includes exterior door replacements, restroom renovations with new fixtures and plumbing upgrades, and extensive crack and spall repairs to address maintenance and security concerns.
Current construction efforts are focused on installing new canopies, which are about 26.25% complete and progressing on schedule, according to GDOE. The upgrades are part of a broader facilities improvement program targeting deferred maintenance, infrastructure modernization and long-term sustainability at public school campuses island wide.
“These upgrades represent meaningful improvements to the daily learning environment at Ordot Chalan Pago Elementary School,” said Deputy Superintendent of Assessment and Accountability Dr. Julie Ulloa-Heath. “As we move through the final stages of the refurbishment, our focus remains on delivering durable, high-quality facilities that support both students and educators.” GDOE officials said the department remains committed to ensuring safe, functional and well-maintained learning environments for students and staff.
