A 19-year-old man was arrested Tuesday night after police responded to a riot complaint at the Tamuning Mayor’s Office, according to an affidavit filed by the Guam Attorney General’s Office. Officers found Tur Tyler Peter shirtless and shouting obscenities at a crowd when they arrived around 8 p.m.
Witnesses, including a mother who said her 16-year-old son was attacked, alleged that Peter assaulted multiple individuals and fought with other men near the mayor’s office. The minor told police Peter swung his fist at him “for an unknown reason,” though he was not injured and declined medical treatment.
Police reported that Peter appeared intoxicated, with slurred speech, bloodshot eyes, and difficulty standing. At one point, he admitted to fighting “with his cousin” but refused to cooperate with officers, continuing to yell at the crowd. When officers attempted to detain him, Peter allegedly pulled away and tried to flee before being subdued.
Peter was arrested on suspicion of assault, resisting arrest, underage consumption of alcohol, disorderly conduct, and public drunkenness, according to the affidavit. He remained combative when medics arrived, and investigators noted he was too intoxicated to be interviewed. He was released on a $1,000 personal recognizance bond.
