The Guam Department of Education recognized M.U. Lujan Elementary School for improved public health inspection results, citing progress in campus sanitation and safety, according to a release issued Monday.
The school received a score of 24/C in its most recent inspection, an improvement from its previous score of 28/C. GDOE said the improvement reflects efforts by school leadership, staff and district partners to address inspection findings and strengthen health and safety practices.
GDOE, working with M.U. Lujan Elementary School administration and the Facilities & Maintenance Division, is reviewing the inspection report and implementing corrective actions ahead of the next inspection cycle. The department said all identified items are being addressed in accordance with established protocols to ensure continued compliance with applicable health and safety standards.
Despite the inspection findings, the school remains fully operational, with instructional programs and student services continuing without interruption.
GDOE expressed appreciation to school staff, Facilities & Maintenance personnel and district partners for their continued dedication to maintaining safe and healthy school facilities for students and staff.
