A student from JP Torres Success Academy has earned the highest overall testing results among Guam Army National Guard applicants in fiscal year 2027 while successfully completing enlistment requirements, according to the Guam Department of Education.
Matthew Santos achieved the top overall score among 27 individuals tested, earning an Armed Forces Qualification Test score of 76 and a General Technical score of 110, officials said. The scores are used by the U.S. Army to determine enlistment eligibility and occupational placement.
Santos also earned a Platinum badge on the WorkKeys Assessment, the highest level attainable.
“Out of the 27 testers I have worked with in FY2027, PVT Matthew Aguon Santos achieved the highest overall score,” said SSG Camacho Juan, a recruiting and retention noncommissioned officer for the Guam Army National Guard who proctored the testing.
Santos was formally sworn in during a ceremony attended by family members, along with JP Torres Success Academy administrators, faculty and staff, marking what officials described as a major academic and professional milestone.
The Guam Department of Education and JP Torres Success Academy commended Santos for his dedication and discipline, noting his achievement reflects the department’s commitment to supporting education, workforce readiness and service opportunities for students.
Education officials said Santos’ performance underscores his preparedness for military service and future career success.
