Refurbishment work at J.Q. San Miguel Elementary School is more than 90% complete as crews continue infrastructure upgrades on campus, the Guam Department of Education announced Wednesday.
According to GDOE, the overall project is approximately 90.66% finished. Current construction efforts focus on canopy installation and electrical upgrades. Canopy work is 52.12% complete, while electrical upgrades have reached 82.19% completion.
Officials said the remaining work represents the final phase of the campus improvement project.
“This stage of the project reflects steady momentum as we move toward final completion,” Deputy Superintendent of Assessment and Accountability Julie Ulloa-Heath said in a statement. “Our priority remains ensuring that all remaining work is completed efficiently and to standard, providing a safe and functional environment for students and staff.”
The refurbishment at J.Q. San Miguel Elementary is part of GDOE’s districtwide facilities improvement initiative aimed at addressing deferred maintenance and strengthening long-term reliability across public school campuses.
GDOE said it will continue monitoring progress as work advances toward full completion, emphasizing its commitment to facility upgrades that support teaching, learning and daily school operations.
