The HYMarket at the Hyatt Regency Guam closed out CHamoru Month with a celebration of island flavors and local craftsmanship, featuring more than 50 local growers and makers—and spotlighting the talents of Guam’s young culinary students.

High school ProStart students faced off in a spirited Mocktail and Culinary competition that showcased creativity and technical skill. Competitors were tasked with crafting a mocktail inspired by island flavors and a dinanche using fresh, locally sourced ingredients.

Teams vied for top honors in two categories: the Mocktail Competition and the Dinananche Competition. Winners not only earned Certified Angus Beef aprons but also the opportunity to continue collaborating with Hyatt’s culinary professionals.

Results:

Mocktail Competition Winner: Okkodo High School

Mocktail People’s Choice: Southern High School Team A

Dinananche Competition Winner: Southern High School Team B

Dinananche People’s Choice: Tiyan High School

The event marked a flavorful finale to CHamoru Month, celebrating local agriculture, culinary innovation, and the next generation of island chefs.
