As of 9:15 PM on July 6, Guam remains in Condition of Readiness, or COR 1, according to the Joint Information Center.
Residents are urged to remain indoors and stay off the roads until COR 4 is officially announced.
At first light on July 7, Governor Lou Leon Guerrero, Lieutenant Governor Joshua Tenorio, the Guam Department of Public Works, the Mayors’ Council of Guam, and other government partners will begin initial windshield assessments, the JIC announced. Teams will evaluate roadway conditions, infrastructure, utility impacts, and potential hazards to determine when it is safe for the public to resume travel.
Island residents are asked to remain in their homes until the official transition to COR 4. Limiting travel ensures that assessment teams and emergency crews can safely identify hazards, clear roadways, and restore essential services, the JIC stated.
