The magistrate complaint filed in criminal case CF-0779-26 identifies Chargualaf and Frank Rivera Meno as defendants. The case which stems from a traffic stop and an alleged shotgun in plain view on the rear passenger floorboard.
Police said Meno was the driver and Chargualaf was seated in the rear passenger seat behind him. According to the complaint, the firearm was within reach of both men.
“The officers ordered Frank and Jordan out of the vehicle to conduct a pat-down search. Jordan exited the vehicle first and was told by the officer to place his hand on the front of the car,” the complaint said.
The complaint alleges that Chargualaf pretended to comply and “immediately turned around and fled.” An officer pursued Chargualaf, but he allegedly “escaped” through a heavily vegetated trail.
An all-points bulletin was subsequently issued.
Meno appeared in court Thursday and was formally charged with illegal possession of an unregistered firearm and possession of a firearm without a firearms identification card, both third-degree felonies.
Though Chargualaf is a named defendant in the complaint, authorities continue to seek him for questioning.
GPD said a warrant of arrest has also been issued for Chargualaf in CF-0159-26. The complaint said Chargualaf is on pretrial release in that case.
