The Guam Police Department and the Office of the Attorney General confirm that a death investigation has been launched into the "passing" of Nicholas Moore, the suspect in the 2020 murder of Michael Castro.

According to Moore's Attorney Mike Phillips, his client was "found early this morning in his bedroom."

"It was clear at that time Nicholas passed away," Phillips said. "We are shocked by Nicholas’ passing and just met with him yesterday. We mourn Nicholas’ passing and look forward to receiving information regarding the cause of death."

The cause of death is not known, however Phillips confirmed Moore's family "is working with and cooperating with the investigation."

The release from authorities said the investigation is a coordinated effort looking at the "circumstances surrounding Moore's death.

"Because this remains an active investigation, authorities are limiting the release of additional information at this time to protect the integrity of the investigation," GPD said.

On Wednesday, GPD asked anyone who may have information regarding Moore's death to contact the Criminal Investigation Division at 671-475-8615 or submit a tip online anonymously with the Guam Crime Stoppers at www.guamcrimestoppers.com

This is a developing story.
