The Guam Power Authority is focused on addressing feeders and circuits in several villages including Hagat, Santa Rita-Sumai, Malesso', Piti, Sinajana and Dededo, according to a release from the power authority on Tuesday.

The efforts to restore power to the Island-Wide Power System follows Typhoon Champi. Now on day 2 of restorations efforts, GPA reported as of 7 a.m., 98% of transmission lines, all substations and 88% of feeders and circuits are energized.

The current demand is at 79% of its target 174 megawatts.

"Generation capacity: Adequate. GPA does not anticipate any generation capacity shortage. All Ukudu generators including the steam turbine generator are online. Inventory Status: Adequate. GPA has adequate inventory to ensure that critical materials and supplies

are readily available when needed," the release said.

Line crews are focused on restoration work on remaining distribution feeders and circuits that are still without power.

"During this stage of recovery, some energized feeders may still leave pockets of isolated customers with extensive damages. GPA will return to restore service to those remaining customers immediately after all other feeders without faults are restored," GPA said.

This phase of post-typhoon recovery, GPA crews are addressing all sectors: north, central and south to restore as many customers as possible.

According to GPA generation crews are addressing generators for water wells and wastewater service. The are also working on "urgent critical infrastructure" and energizing school facilities across the island.

GPA advised island residents to stay away from any down lines and equipment as they may still be energized and pose a danger to health and life.

"To report downed power lines or for emergency power issues, call GPA Trouble Dispatch

at (671) 475-1472/73/74," the release said.

Non-emergency power issues including damaged weather heads, internal electrical damage requiring Emergency Work Clearances, or inquiries about service restoration may be directed to GPA's customer call center at (671) 647-5787/88/89.
