The Guam Department of Education confirmed Monday that its systems have not been compromised by the widespread cyber incident affecting Government of Guam websites, saying its infrastructure does not rely on the cPanel-hosted platforms identified as the primary vector in the global attack.
"We have taken proactive measures over the past several months to strengthen our systems and address potential vulnerabilities," said Frank Leon Guerrero, administrator for the Financial Student Administrative Information System. "At this time, we have no indication that any of our systems have been compromised."
GDOE also cautioned employees about a rise in phishing emails circulating in the wake of the incident, warning that such messages are designed to exploit uncertainty and gain unauthorized access to systems or sensitive information.
