The Guam Department of Education is now accepting applications for pre-kindergarten and kindergarten students for the Faniyåkan CHamoru Program for the 2026–2027 school year.
The application window runs April 8 through June 7, 2026. Housed at P.C. Lujan Elementary School in Radio Barrigada, the program delivers instruction in CHamoru across all core subject areas, with school hours Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 2:43 p.m.
Applicants must reside on Guåhan and meet age requirements: pre-kindergarten students must be 4 years old by July 31, 2026, and kindergarten students must be 5 years old by the same date.
Accepted families must commit eight hours per month to support the program and to learning the CHamoru language and culture outside the classroom.
Selection includes an application review followed by family interviews.
