The Guam Department of Education (GDOE) has launched a new Family and Community Engagement Playbook aimed at strengthening CHamoru language learning and revitalization efforts.
The resource will be officially introduced by the CHamoru Studies and Special Projects Division during the 2026 Mes CHamoru celebration at the Finattan CHamoru event held March 21 at Agana Shopping Center.
According to GDOE, the playbook provides families and community members with strategies, resources, and practical tips to support CHamoru language learning beyond the classroom. Officials say the initiative is designed to encourage deeper cultural connection and promote language use across generations.
The playbook is publicly available online through the CHamoru Studies website, accessible via the GDOE main site. Community members are also invited to provide feedback through an online survey to help guide future editions.
Education officials said the effort reflects a broader commitment to cultural preservation and community engagement during Mes CHamoru, also known as Finattan CHamoru 2026.
