Four University of Guam Students have returned from South Korea where they participated in an "immersive" Summer Program made possible through travel scholarships.
According to the University of Guam the students pursuing various degree programs through UOG received the award, noting that the scholarship is open to undergraduate and graduate students from all disciplines.
• Clarisse Tarroma, a senior majoring in Psychology;
• Norielynn O’Connor, who earned a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the University
of Guam in 2016 and is currently pursuing a Master of Science in counseling;
• Amber Rose Hecita, who graduated in May with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology; and
• Amara Sula, who also graduated in May with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology.
The four students received the Global Learning and Engagement (GLE) Travel Scholarship which allowed them to take part in the Seo Kyeong University academic and cultural program in Seoul from June 26 through July 4.
"The program at Seo Kyeong University combines classroom instruction with hands-on cultural experiences. Students attend intensive Korean conversation classes each morning before participating in afternoon activities that introduce them to Korean culture and society," UOG said.
