Following the May 1, 2026, deadline, the Guam Election Commission has confirmed the candidate filings for the primary election on August 1, 2026.
Gubernatorial Teams
Six teams have filed to run for Adelup:
Democrats: Senator Joe S. San Agustin and Former Senator Dwayne T.D. San Nicolas; Senator Therese Terlaje and Senator Sabina Perez; and Lt. Governor Joshua Tenorio and Senator Tina Rose Muna-Barnes.
Republicans: Vice Speaker Tony Ada and EJ Calvo; and Speaker Frank F. Blas Jr. and Dr. Mary A.Y. Okada.
Independent: Jeffrey Pleadwell and Charlie Hermosa.
Delegate to Congress
Three candidates have filed for the Delegate seat:
Republicans: Incumbent James Moylan and Former Senator Mary Camacho Torres.
Democrat: Alicia Anne Garrido Limtiaco is running uncontested and will advance to the general election.
Guam Legislature
There are 36 candidates running for Senator, 18 Democrats and 18 Republicans. Since six incumbents from the 38th Guam Legislature are running for gubernatorial offices, there will be at least six vacancies in the 39th Guam Legislature.
The following candidates have filed for the primary:
Incumbents: William Parkinson, Darrel Christopher “Malafunkshun” Barnett, Democrats; Jesse Anderson Lujan, Eulogio Shawn Gumataotao, Sabrina Salas Matanane, Telo Taitague, Christopher M. Duenas, Vincent Anthony V. Borja, and Shelly V. Calvo, Republicans.
Former Senators: Roy Quinata, Telena Cruz Nelson, Amanda Shelton, and Clynton Ridgell, Democrats; Louisa Borja and William Castro, Republicans.
New Democratic Candidates: Lillian Guerrero, Joaquin Paulino Taitague, Gerald Yingling, Anthony Taijeron, Donna Rita Muna Quinata, Fred Bordallo, Angela Santos, David Duenas, Angel Sablan, Joaquin Cruz, Sarah Thomas Nededog, and Kallen Perez.
New Republican Candidates: Jonathan Savares, Matteo T. Mortera, Alexander Duenas, Dr. Hoa Nguyen, Raffaele Sgambelluri, Joseph Arriola, Robert Benavente, Brandon Vera, and Gregorio Calvo.
Following the August 1 primary, the field will be narrowed for the general election on November 3, 2026.
