A coalition of community organizations is inviting families to take part in a special Community Saturday Story Time on Sept. 6, 2025, at the Hagåtña Public Library and online via Zoom. The event is organized by D204 Lions Clubs International in partnership with the University of Guam’s School of Education Alumni Association, the Guam Public Library System, and several local and national partners.

The program will feature interactive read-aloud sessions and a water safety presentation led by the Guam Police Department’s Recreational Boating Safety Program and the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, Guam Flotilla 140-02-24. Children and families attending will also have opportunities to win books and other prizes by participating in Q&A sessions throughout the program.

Organizers said the event reflects a shared commitment to promoting literacy, cultural pride, and safety awareness. Supporting groups include Guahan Isan Famagu’on Lions Club, the Guam Council of the International Literacy Association, GDOE’s CHamoru Studies and Special Projects Division, Caleb’s Courageous Cause, and Peto’s Journey, LLC.
