`The Bureau of Statistics and Plans has extended for a second time the public comment period for the draft 2050 Guåhan Sustainability Plan, pushing the new deadline to May 22 at 5 p.m.
The plan serves as a comprehensive framework for Guam's future, addressing economic resilience, environmental stewardship and community well-being. It also serves as the official update to the Guam Comprehensive Development Plan, known as Kabales, as mandated by Public Law 35-110.
BSP held two public hearings on the draft — Feb. 12 at the Hågat Mayor's Office and Feb. 25 at the Dededo Mayor's Office. The agency cited the need to ensure all residents have ample opportunity to review the document and contribute to the island's long-term strategic vision.
Residents can view and download the full draft, access FAQs, chapter summaries, interactive land use maps and survey data at bsp.guam.gov/gsp2050. Hard copies are available for review at the Bureau of Statistics and Plans office at 513 West Marine Corps Drive, Ricardo J. Bordallo Complex, in Hagåtña, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
