The 2026 Guam Primary Election is 207 days away, which is scheduled for Saturday, August 1, 2026, according to the Guam Election Commission.
Candidates have already begun picking up 2026 election candidate packets to run for office. Among the first to announce picking up senatorial packets from the GEC office in Tamuning was Matteo Mortera, a first-time candidate, who posted to social media on January 5.
Jonathan Savares, Alexander Duenas, and Richard Taitano have also picked up their senatorial packets.
Son of former Dededo Mayor Melissa Savares, Savares is running for the second time, previously as a Democrat, and is now running as a Republican.
Duenas has ran twice previously as a Democrat and is now running as a Republican.
