United Airlines is rolling out major upgrades for travelers at its Guam hub, announcing plans to replace its entire Boeing 737-800 fleet with ten new Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft and to modernize the check-in lobby at Antonio B. Won Pat International Airport. The first aircraft is scheduled to arrive in February 2026.
The new planes will feature seatback entertainment at every seat, Bluetooth connectivity, Wi-Fi, and larger overhead bins designed to fit each passenger’s carry-on. Customers will also see more extra-legroom seating and accessibility features built into the inflight entertainment system. “Our investment in new aircraft and a complete refresh of our lobby in Guam will deliver the premium experience our customers expect,” said David Kinzelman, United’s Chief Customer Officer.
On the ground, United is introducing next-generation kiosks designed to cut down congestion and wait times. The new self-service machines have already processed more than 48,000 customers since installation and reduce the average check-in session to under two minutes. Construction on the reconfigured lobby is expected to finish by mid-October, with a ribbon-cutting planned upon completion.
United also announced new scheduling adjustments to benefit travelers in Saipan. Beginning Dec. 1, flights from Saipan to Guam will depart earlier on select days, creating more convenient same-day connections to Honolulu and beyond. “Guam is more than just a hub for us – it’s a gateway that connects communities across the Pacific and the United States,” said Sam Shinohara, United’s Managing Director of Airport Operations in Asia-Pacific.
