The clock is ticking for athletes hoping to compete in the 2025 Marianas Open International Championship. Organizers announced that the final registration deadline is Oct. 8, tomorrow. However, with registration already at 95% capacity, they cautioned that the portal could close once the event reaches its limit.
The highly anticipated tournament will take place Oct. 18 at the University of Guam Fieldhouse, featuring both Gi and No Gi divisions. With a $50,000 prize pool, the Marianas Open remains one of the premier Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu championships in the Asia-Pacific region, attracting elite competitors from across the globe for a day of intense competition and sportsmanship.
This year’s response has been record-breaking, with nearly 1,000 athletes signed up and more than half traveling from off-island. Competitors from Asia, the Americas, and Europe are set to converge on Guam, raising the stakes for one of the most competitive events in the tournament’s history.
“Each year, the Marianas Open continues to elevate the standard of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in our region,” said Marianas Open President Steve Shimizu. “It’s more than a competition — it’s where preparation meets purpose, and where the best from around the world come to test their craft.” Registration officially closes Oct. 8, but organizers stress there will be no extensions or exceptions once full capacity is reached.
