Young athletes from Purebred Jiu-Jitsu Guam are preparing to compete in the 2026 IBJJF Asian Kids Championships in Nagoya, Japan and to help support them, the organization hosted its first Roll-A-Thon Fundraising event on Aug. 22.
Students, coaches, families and attendees came together for a day on the mats where jiu jitsu practitioners young and old, trained and demonstrated camaraderie in support of the next generation of athletes.
"Participants took part in continuous sparring in an open-mat-style format, allowing members of Purebred Jiu-Jitsu Guam to roll, support, and contribute toward the athletes who will represent Guam on the international stage," Purebred Jiu Jitsu Guam said.
Purebred said the Roll-A-Thon is an important milestone and hailed it a success in bringing together members and supporters in support of the next generation.
The event raised funds to support the youth's participation in the 2026 IBJJF Asian Kids Championships, scheduled for Dec. 6, at the Aichi-ken Budokan in Nagoya, Aichi prefecture, Japan.
"The championship brings together Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu athletes from across Asia and around the world," Purebred said.
