Cebu residents turned out in island spirit as the Guam Visitors Bureau (GVB) staged its first #GuamWithMe travel fair Feb. 21–22 at the Ayala Malls Central Bloc.

Co-presented by Philippine Airlines, the two-day event highlighted exclusive flight deals from Cebu to Guam, allowing travelers to book direct island getaways from their home city.

Cebu-based agencies Grand Hope Travel Inc. and Travel Care offered curated Guam packages, including Ko’ko’ Weekend and leisure adventure options. Retail partners also joined the fair, including Bank of the Philippine Islands as official bank partner, along with Primer Group of Companies, The Travel Club, Allbirds, Flight 001, Viajecito, New Era, Havaianas and Imprint, showcasing travel gear and island essentials.

Interactive booths, games and prizes drew steady crowds. Two winners of a rebranded “Hafa Adai!” version of the “Hep Hep Hooray” game each received $250, while other attendees won Guam-themed items. Cultural performers from Guma Tao’tao Tåno energized the venue with CHamoru dance presentations highlighting Guam’s heritage.

Cebu-based influencers Cebuana Diaries, Dussel Mortejo and Ana Bensig also participated, sharing travel experiences and creating content that amplified the event’s reach online.

Organizers estimated 2,500 attendees daily, with an on-ground reach of about 120,000 based on mall foot traffic. Online, the campaign reportedly reached 240 million users, promoting Guam as a destination just 3.5 hours away offering a blend of American experiences and CHamoru hospitality.

“We are extremely grateful for the overwhelming response from the people of Cebu,” GVB President and CEO Regine Biscoe Lee said. “The Philippines is a vital market for Guam, and this successful fair shows the strong desire among Filipinos to experience our beautiful island.”

Lee added that Guam residents also stand to benefit from stronger travel ties with Cebu as an emerging destination.
