The Guam Visitors Bureau announced upcoming themes and events for the Tumon Night Market through the end of May, including a Mother’s Day celebration recognizing the role of women in Guam’s families and tourism industry.
Following temporary weather-related closures caused by Typhoon Sinlaku, the weekly market resumed April 26 at Pleasure Island in Tumon.
GVB said the “All About Moms” theme, which began May 3, will continue Sunday, May 10, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. in celebration of Mother’s Day.
“This May, we honor Mother’s Day and the strength of our mothers who are at the heart of our families, culture, and tourism industry,” said Régine Biscoe Lee, president and CEO of GVB.
The event will feature live music, entertainment, local vendors, food, gifts and family activities. Organizers said the Mom-Tails Bar will offer complimentary mocktails for mothers through Luvin’ Guam, and attendees can also participate in a themed photo raffle contest promoted through GVB and @marketbuzz.gu social media pages.
GVB also announced the return of the Mad Collab Block Party on May 17 in partnership with GuamTime. The event will run from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. and feature collaborations between local artists, muralists and makers.
Additional tourism month events include the Hågat Mango Festival on May 24 and Tourism Industry Night at Tumon Night Market on May 31.
