The Guam Visitors Bureau (GVB), in partnership with the Guam International Airport Authority (GIAA), has announced an extension of the Guam Youth Art Contest 2026 submission deadline to April 15, providing students additional time to participate in this island-wide celebration of creativity and culture.
Open to students in Kindergarten through 8th grade, the contest challenges young artists to visually interpret the theme “What does Håfa Adai Spirit mean to you?” through original 11” x 14” artwork. The pieces are expected to reflect Guam’s hospitality, culture, and community values — core elements of the island’s identity.
Selected entries will be featured at the A.B. Won Pat International Airport, greeting arriving passengers with artwork that captures Guam’s warmth and pride through the eyes of its children.
“We’re proud to partner with the Guam International Airport Authority to bring our community directly into the visitor journey,” said Régine Biscoe Lee, President and CEO of GVB. “During Mes CHamoru, students have been immersed in learning about our heritage, and it’s inspiring to see those lessons expressed through art. We’ve seen tremendous participation so far and are excited to welcome even more entries.”
With the extended timeline, GVB hopes to encourage additional schools and families to participate, expanding representation from across the island. The effort aligns with the bureau’s mission to connect community and tourism by creating authentic cultural experiences for visitors.

Public Display Opening: April 24, 2026
Winning artworks will be displayed in the airport’s arrivals terminal, with prizes including cash awards and special experiences sponsored by GVB members and partners.
