Bank of Guam broke ground Tuesday on its new northern branch in Dededo, signaling the bank’s return to Guam’s largest village after more than four years. The project, located along Brigadier General Ben Blaz Memorial Highway, will feature the company’s “Branch of the Future” design, focused on self-service and advanced technology.
Bank of Guam President and CEO Joaquin P.L.G. Cook said the new location underscores the institution’s continued investment in the island’s northern community. “The Future Is Breaking Ground, and we’re proud to build it together,” Cook said, adding that while digital transformation remains a priority, physical presence in local communities is equally important to serving customers.
The new 6,250-square-foot facility will sit on nearly 45,000 square feet of land and include retail and business service areas, community meeting spaces, three drive-up ATMs, two walk-up ATMs, night drop services, and 65 parking spaces. The building will also be equipped with an emergency generator and water storage systems to ensure operational resiliency.
Designed by Taniguchi Ruth Makio Architects and built by JIC Join Corporation, the branch is slated for completion in 2027. Bank of Guam previously closed its Dededo and Harmon branches in 2021 during the COVID-19 pandemic as part of its forward-looking campaign, “The Start of Something New.”
