The Guam Police Department arrested a Yona man Tuesday after he allegedly brandished what appeared to be a firearm at passing vehicles near a convenience store.
Police identified the suspect as Kenny Losongco Aguon, 56, who was taken into custody and charged with terrorizing, reckless conduct, impersonating a public officer, and resisting arrest.
According to GPD, officers responded around 11:15 a.m. after receiving reports of a man holding what looked like a gun and pointing it at vehicles in the area.
When officers arrived, Aguon allegedly attempted to flee in his vehicle but was stopped by responding units. Authorities say he was found in possession of a fake police badge and initially refused to comply with commands before being restrained.
A search of the vehicle revealed the weapon was a toy gun, police said.
Aguon was later processed and booked into the Guam Department of Corrections. His case has been forwarded to the Office of the Attorney General of Guam for review and potential prosecution.
Police have not released additional details as the investigation continues
