A 34-year-old Yigo man faces multiple felony charges after allegedly attempting to drive a vehicle into four marked Guam Police Department patrol cars during a follow-up investigation Tuesday.

Justin C. Nauta was arrested June 9 following an incident in Dededo in which officers say he tried to ram GPD vehicles at high speed, forcing officers to take evasive action.

GPD's SWAT team was activated. Before they arrived, Nauta allegedly turned the vehicle around and drove toward Chalan Despasiu, where he was blocked in by the SWAT armored vehicle and Dededo Precinct Command patrol units.

He was then removed from the vehicle and placed in restraints. No injuries were reported.

Nauta was arrested on 19 charges including seven counts of aggravated assault, five counts of assault against a peace officer, two counts of family violence, and single counts of crimes against the community, reckless driving, resisting arrest, obstructing public ways, and disorderly conduct.

He was processed, booked, and confined to the Department of Corrections. The case has been forwarded to the Office of the Attorney General.
