A woman has been charged with assault and criminal mischief following an altercation at a Tumon bar over the weekend. According to court documents, Barbara Cervantes Aguilar, 47, was arrested on Oct. 13, 2025, after allegedly punching another woman during a confrontation at the Flava Bar in Tumon.
Police reports state that the victim told officers she was speaking with her business partner when Aguilar, the partner’s girlfriend, accused them of having an affair. After leaving the bar, Aguilar reportedly returned about an hour later with a friend, reignited the argument, and punched the victim twice in the face. Officers observed redness and swelling on the victim’s left cheek and eye, and noted that her gold necklace had been damaged in the struggle.
The Attorney General’s Office charged Aguilar with misdemeanor assault and criminal mischief, alleging she recklessly caused bodily harm and intentionally damaged property. Prosecutors initially sought pretrial confinement, citing public safety concerns, but court records show Magistrate Judge Jonathan Quan released Aguilar on $1,000 personal recognizance.
If convicted, Aguilar faces up to two years in prison. The case remains under review by the Office of the Attorney General.
