A woman identified as Alaina Jenae Sablan, was arrested Friday afternoon following a routine traffic stop that led to the discovery of suspected methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia, according to a magistrate complaint. The incident occurred on Aug. 17, when park police observed a black Mazda CX-5 without front and rear license plates pulling into the parking lot of the Food Classic Restaurant.
During the stop, officers initially engaged the driver, who claimed her license plate had been confiscated and could only present her driver’s license. Park Police noticed the front-seat passenger, later identified as Sablan, acting nervously and repeatedly reaching into her bag. Officers conducted safety pat-downs and, after being granted consent, searched the vehicle. Inside, they found a Crown Royal pouch containing an improvised glass pipe and nine resealable plastic baggies containing a crystalline substance suspected to be methamphetamine.
Sablan spontaneously admitted to possessing marijuana and a pipe, later confessing to ownership of the drugs discovered in the pouch. Field tests at the precinct yielded a presumptive positive result for methamphetamine. She now faces felony charges for possession of a Schedule II controlled substance, in violation of Guam’s Uniform Controlled Substances Act. A special notice of felony-on-felony release was attached to the charge.
