A woman was arrested Monday after corrections officers discovered a syringe containing suspected methamphetamine hidden inside a pair of shoes she attempted to deliver to an inmate, according to an affidavit filed by the Office of the Attorney General.
The affidavit states that at around 12:23 p.m. on Dec. 1, that a Department of Corrections Officer inspected a pair of Adidas shoes brought in by Dolores Lynn Meno for a detainee. Inside the right shoe, under the insole, the officer found a syringe believed to contain methamphetamine. DOC contacted Guam Police at about 4:26 p.m.
Officers arrived minutes later, and a field test conducted by a GPD Officer indicated a presumptive positive result for meth. While police processed the evidence, DOC officers used drug-detection canine “Alpha” to conduct a free-air sniff of Meno’s vehicle, where a minor child was present. Alpha alerted to the presence of drugs inside the car.
A search of the vehicle uncovered a purse containing two glass pipes with drug residue and three small plastic baggies commonly used to store methamphetamine, according to the affidavit. The items were turned over to police for testing.
GPD arrested Meno at 4:34 p.m. She faces multiple charges, including first- and third-degree felonies for possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, felony and misdemeanor counts of promoting prison contraband, and illegal possession of a controlled substance.
The affidavit was sworn by Special Assistant Attorney General Curtis Van de veld on Dec. 2.
