Court documents in a case involving a woman charged with assault, alleges that she attacked another woman with a machete.
Victoria Millagracia was arrested days after the incident which was caught on surveillance video in Dededo.
"The video showed Millagracia holding a machete by the handle and the victim holding the machete by the blade. They appeared to be both pulling on the machete," the magistrate complaint said.
The complaint said that the victim, a woman, encountered Millagracia on Aug. 18 at the old police precinct on Iglesias Circle.
"Millagracia was yelling something, grabbed a machete and swung it sideways at the victim striking her three times in the upper left arm," the complaint states.
The victim was able to disarm Millagracia and left the area to "create some distance," the complaint said.
Police confirmed that the victim sustained a 4-inch laceration which was described as a "minor" injury.
Police who interviewed Millagracia about the incident said she waived her Miranda Rights and provided her account of the incident.
"Millagracia stated that the victim was walking towards Millagracia aggressively, so Millagracia grabbed a machete from her cart when the victim pushed Millagracia against the wall," the complaint states.
Millagracia was charged with aggravated assault as a third-degree felony and released on her personal recognizance.
