The Guam Waterworks Authority has rescinded its precautionary boil water notice and lifted water conservation measures island-wide as recovery efforts from Super Typhoon Sinlaku near completion, the authority announced Saturday.
The boil water notice, first issued April 16, is no longer in effect. Residents are no longer required to boil water prior to use or consumption.
Between April 16 and 24, GWA's Utility Compliance Laboratory collected 117 samples from across the distribution system, all of which confirmed negative results for bacterial contamination.
As of 8:30 a.m. April 25, 98 wells are online with one on standby power generation, and all zones have been pressurized.
GWA cautioned that outages and instances of low to no pressure may still occur as system adjustments continue. Service at specific locations may vary throughout the day as reservoir levels rise, and demand during peak hours will affect the rate at which pressure builds to acceptable levels.

Although conservation measures have been lifted, GWA reminded residents that water remains a precious resource and encouraged continued mindful use.
