Guam police arrested two Maite residents in connection with a late-night robbery at a game room, charging one suspect with multiple felony offenses, authorities said.
The Guam Police Department said 26-year-old Tobias Ray Cruz was arrested Jan. 14 on charges including third-degree robbery, reckless conduct, possession of a firearm without a valid firearms identification card, terrorizing, theft of property and destroying evidence.
A second suspect, 23-year-old Tasi Frances Palacios Lefever, was also arrested and charged with hindering apprehension, when the known charge is a third-degree felony, and obstructing governmental operations.
According to police, the incident occurred about 10:37 p.m. Dec. 29, 2025, when Cruz allegedly entered the Liberty Game Room in Maite armed with a black firearm. Investigators said he ran to the back of the establishment and inserted his hand and the firearm through a small window opening into a back room. The cashier handed over approximately $500, and Cruz fled the scene.
Criminal Investigation Division detectives later reviewed surveillance footage and identified Cruz as the suspect, police said.
On Jan. 13, detectives went to Cruz’s residence in Maite, where Lefever told officers she did not know him, according to the department. Detectives returned the following day, and Lefever again said Cruz was not present. Police later located Cruz inside the residence.
Both suspects were escorted to the Criminal Investigation Section offices, where Cruz eventually confessed to his involvement in the robbery, police said.
Cruz and Lefever were processed, booked and confined at the Department of Corrections. Their cases have been forwarded to the Office of the Attorney General for review and disposition. The investigation remains ongoing.
