A routine traffic stop on Dec. 28 resulted in the arrest of Jennilyn Crystal Dimla Flores on suspicion of methamphetamine possession, according to a sworn affidavit filed in the Superior Court of Guam.
The affidavit, submitted by Assistant Attorney General Staci Anderson, states that Guam police officers stopped a white Toyota sedan at about 7:46 p.m. for traveling 40 mph in a 15 mph zone. During the stop, officers observed a black pouch in plain view on the floor behind the front passenger seat bearing the printed words “ALL MY DRUG (Explicit).”
While Flores searched for identification and vehicle documents, officers noted what they described as nervous and distracted behavior. Police said she gave consent for a search of the vehicle. Inside the pouch, officers found two clear plastic baggies containing a white crystalline substance and a clear glass pipe with a bulbous end, according to the affidavit.
Flores allegedly told officers the substance was “meth.” The two baggies later weighed 0.51 grams and 0.45 grams. A field test using a methamphetamine reagent kit produced a presumptive positive result for methamphetamine, the affidavit said.
Flores was formally arrested at about 8:23 p.m. and later charged with possession of a Schedule II controlled substance, methamphetamine, a third-degree felony under Guam law. She was released on a $3,000 personal recognizance bond.
